Tech of the Day #3
August 2nd, 2009 | Published in Relational, Ruby/Rails, Scrum, The Cloud
Mental note, blog more.
A little vacation, reading and some client commitments have muddled my personal tech work a bit recently, but here are the things I’ve been working on:
- Ruby (including writing my first Gem)
- RabbitMQ is installed and running
- More Scrum, general Agile, and Lean PM
- webDav server installed for my ToDo list
- some miscellaneous MySQL work
- UUID generation techniques
- AES encryption integration
- and a bit of cloud computing education (giving, not receiving)
I’m looking for some design patterns for queue-based applications. I’ve got a few ideas I want to test out. I hope to be able to cut my list down a bit as far as quantities of tech go. I hate the idea of feeling too thin on something, but I’ve go so many interests, it’s hard to whittle them down sometimes. In that vein, I saw an article on Diversification = Mediocrity which I’ll be exploring further here.
And I still need to set up that podcasting studio….
